Artist's Description

Painting: Spray Paint, Acrylic, Digital on Canvas.

In 2005, Rolling Stone ranked Jimi Hendrix the greatest guitarist and the sixth greatest artist of all time.

I needed color and lots of it to express the Jimi Hendrix Experience. A background of colorful swirls was the only way that I could express the sound of Jimi's artistry.

I painted Jimi’s face (the portrait) and hands with brushwork and acrylic paint. I used digital ink with acrylic paint embellishments for the background, guitar and clothing. As a final touch, I applied acrylic varnish to protect the artwork. Next, I added a black anodized aluminum frame for physical support.

A black anodized aluminum frame and hanger wire are included with the original artwork. It is ready to hang.
