Description
Paphiopedilum (paff-ee-oh-PED-i-lum) orchids have a pouch that is reminiscent of a “lady’s slipper”. Here, I have painted a “pair of slippers”. Paphiopedilum orchids are eye-catching and you can’t help but think of them other than as “pets”. Just don’t tell your dog or cat.
Find the Ladybug: Folklore says that a person’s wish is granted if a ladybug lands on them. Also, tradition says that if you capture a ladybug; make a wish, and then "blow it away" back home your wish will come true. Somewhere in all my flower paintings you will find your ladybug.
