Description
NOTE: The gray border is in the artwork. There is no frame or mat unless added by you.
The subject is Michelangelo's fresco of the Delphic Sibyl, a woman from before the Trojan Wars (c. 11th century BC), painted on the walls of the Sistine Chapel. The pagan Sibyls have been included to symbolize that the Messiah was to come for all the people of the world and not just the Jews. The Delphic Sibyl would have predated the oracle and priestess of Apollo, originating from around the 8th century BC.
