Description
White Cattleya Orchids: Cattleya (KAT-lee-ah) orchids are “air plants” with large, fleshy roots. Because of their sweet fragrance and fluffy edges, they are best known as corsage orchid and show up on many a prom dress. In this painting, the roots grow over the top of the pot and make me think that somewhere a prom queen is having a bad hair day.
Find the Ladybug: Folklore says that a person’s wish is granted if a ladybug lands on them. Also, tradition says that if you capture a ladybug; make a wish, and then "blow it away" back home your wish will come true. Somewhere in all my flower paintings you will find your ladybug.
